Calendula absolute is used only in premium perfumes. It is obtained in Bulgaria, where the flowers of the plant are used for this. Calendula has a sharp, herbaceous aroma. The perfume with its notes has a slight bitterness and warmth, which give harmony and tranquility. Calendula fits beautifully into floral and citrus aromas, and also combines with notes of oakmoss, sage, ginger and coriander.

In modern perfumery, calendula is found less and less, but it still remains a component of many iconic fragrances of the 20th century, which have won many fans. The notes of this plant are most often used as an ingredient of the "top" of a perfume composition. Calendula is relevant in both women's and men's fragrances.
