Rose absolute (or absolute) is a concentrated extract extracted from the flowers of the Bulgarian damascena rose.
Rose absolute is obtained by treating rose concrète with an alcoholic solvent (ethanol) to separate the waxes and filtering it cold under vacuum distillation. It is a reddish liquid with a subtle pink smell.
The composition of absoluto includes the components of rose oil, the main one being phenylethyl alcohol (about 70%), followed by citronellol, geraniol and nerola.
